Account scope

Root-account verification does not imply that every other account has been enrolled.

Separate controls

Two-step verification protects account access; connection encryption and data-storage controls have separate roles.

Expected outcome

The account shows the intended verification state and the sign-in workflow requests the additional verification as configured.

A Practical Review Workflow

01

Use the authorized account

The documented configuration covers the root account. Confirm your deployed account type and access to General Settings.

02

Open the verification tab

In General Settings, open Two-step verification and review the current state before starting enrollment.

03

Follow the enrollment prompts

Use the authenticator setup and verification controls presented by the installed version. Keep enrollment material private and complete the required confirmation.

04

Verify a sign-in

Confirm the enabled state and test an authorized sign-in. Establish the supported recovery process with your administrator before changing devices.

When the Result Is Not What You Expected

A code is rejected

Check automatic time synchronization on the authenticator device and use the current code for the correct account.

The tab is unavailable

Check account permissions and the feature exposed by the deployed version.

The authenticator is unavailable

Use the supported account-recovery process. Do not treat a database edit or disabling protection as a routine recovery step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are enrollment codes suitable for documentation screenshots?

No. Use an illustration or sanitized setup example without live enrollment secrets.

Does this guide change our security settings?

No. It explains the workflow. An authorized administrator must perform and verify any configuration change.
