Before You Begin

Workspace preferences

Language, branding and company information support a consistent working environment.

Operational settings

Recording, retention and inventory preferences affect the data available to your team.

Expected outcome

The chosen preference is saved and its intended behavior is confirmed without assuming unrelated settings changed.

A Practical Review Workflow

01

Review responsibility

Identify the administrator responsible for the change and which teams, devices or reports it may affect.

02

Choose the settings area

Use General Settings and the relevant company workflow. The supplied interface separates Settings, Two-step verification, SMTP/Email, Logo/Text and Security Cryptology.

03

Change a defined setting

Review the existing value and adjust only the intended preference. Treat retention and inactive-station deletion as lifecycle decisions, not cosmetic settings.

04

Verify the result

Reopen the setting and check its actual effect: language display, the appropriate report/recording behavior, inventory refresh or a controlled SMTP test.

When the Result Is Not What You Expected

Email does not arrive

Follow the SMTP guide and check saved settings, recipients and the test outcome.

Inventory does not refresh immediately

Read the refresh guidance in the installed version; the supplied interface notes that computer restarts may be required.

Security values appear read-only

The cryptography panel describes connection-security information. Editing a displayed value is not a key-rotation workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does enabling the API complete an integration?

No. Supported source configuration, user mapping and import verification remain separate steps.

Should we change the business identifier routinely?

No. It is an identity setting with wider relationships. Use the approved administration process only when there is a specific need.

Where do retention decisions belong?

Agree on recording age, storage and review requirements with the responsible owners, then use the relevant retention controls and verify the result.
