Performance

Performance Overview

The Performance section in DeskGate is designed to measure how much work is performed on a user’s PC by analyzing time-based activity within the defined time zone. This module converts raw working time into a structured performance score, allowing organizations to evaluate productivity using objective and measurable data.

By focusing on time-zone-aware activity, DeskGate ensures that performance measurements reflect real working conditions rather than generic system uptime. This approach provides accurate insight into how work is distributed throughout the day.

Time Zone Based Performance Scoring

DeskGate calculates performance by aligning user activity with the configured time zone. This ensures that working time is evaluated within the correct operational window, eliminating distortions caused by different regional schedules or system time differences.

Time-zone-based scoring allows organizations with distributed teams to maintain consistent performance evaluation standards while still respecting local working hours.

Total Working Minutes

Total minutes represent the full duration the user’s PC is actively involved in work-related activity during the selected period. This metric provides a high-level view of overall engagement and system usage.

By reviewing total working minutes, managers can quickly understand workload intensity and compare activity levels across users or teams.

Active Minutes

Active minutes indicate periods where the user is directly interacting with the PC through input activity such as keyboard or mouse usage. This metric reflects focused and intentional work.

Active time is a key indicator of productivity, helping organizations identify engaged working periods and measure effective task execution.

Passive Minutes

Passive minutes represent periods when the PC is on and work-related processes may be running, but direct user interaction is limited or absent. This includes background tasks, waiting times, or system-driven operations.

Analyzing passive time helps organizations understand workflow structure, identify idle patterns, and distinguish between active engagement and background activity.

Performance Interpretation

By combining total, active, and passive minutes, DeskGate provides a balanced view of user performance. This multi-dimensional approach prevents misinterpretation that could occur when relying on a single metric.

Performance data can be used to support workload optimization, identify process inefficiencies, and improve time management strategies across the organization.

Operational and Managerial Benefits

The Performance section enables managers to make data-driven decisions based on measurable activity rather than subjective evaluation. Clear visibility into working patterns supports fair assessment and transparent communication.

With DeskGate Performance, organizations gain a reliable foundation for productivity analysis, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
