Using the Daily Activity Report

Filter active and passive time, inspect user records and verify the exported PDF.

Understand the report

The Activities page displays daily active and passive minute analysis. Its full-day notice states that it considers 1,440 minutes from 00:00 to 24:00 and does not contain PC power-on or power-off information. Read that distinction before drawing conclusions from a quiet period.

The numbered notes below explain the screen areas in reading order. The original screenshot is unchanged; example values are demonstration data.

1

Top: dates and included users

Set From, To, Group and User, then review Active users. This checkbox controls which users are included; it is not the active-minute total.

2

Summary: active and passive minutes

The report considers all 1,440 minutes of a day. It does not record PC power-on or power-off times and cannot establish attendance by itself.

User rows: explain an unexpected value

Check a known date and user before exporting. Passive minutes can require context about duties away from the computer and collection coverage.

  1. Open Activities under Activities Report.
  2. Choose From and To to cover the event or period you are investigating.
  3. Select Group and User. Review the Active users checkbox.
  4. Choose the page size, then click Apply.
  5. Read Total users, Active time, Passive time and Active rate alongside the user summary.

Review a user before summarizing

Find the relevant user and examine the daily values in context. Use pagination to continue through results; a visible page is not necessarily the entire filtered list. Compare a known event and verify the period when totals look unexpected.

Passive time is a report condition, not proof that someone was absent or not working. Meetings, duties away from the computer and collection gaps require separate context. Use Work Analysis for program and website usage rather than inferring those details from this report.

Download and check the PDF

Select Download PDF after applying the intended filters. Verify the exported user scope, dates and totals against the report. Keep the document within the approved review group; a PDF may expose more detail than a summary shown in a meeting.

Resolve empty or surprising results

Check whether the selected user belongs to another group, whether Active users excludes the expected record and whether the range covers collected data. Then check permissions, collection settings and connection status. Record the filters and a specific example for support rather than sending an unscoped export.
