What This Helps You Understand

Security events

Source events provide the connection, account and time context available in the environment.

SIEM detections

Configured rules identify conditions that deserve attention. Check which rules are enabled in the deployed version.

Audit context

Administrative history answers a different question: who performed an action and what was recorded about it.

A Practical Review Workflow

01

Select the review period

Choose a relevant period and the available scope and status filters. Start with the incident question rather than the largest possible result set.

02

Inspect the detection

Read the rule or condition, event time and affected account or device. Documented scenarios include repeated login failures, permission changes and after-hours connections.

03

Correlate the evidence

Use the appropriate connection, login or administrative audit records to check what happened around the alert.

04

Assign a conclusion

Give the review an owner and document the result in the investigation process. A rule match is a reason to investigate, not an automatic verdict.

When the Result Is Not What You Expected

No alerts appear

Check the period, scope, enabled rules and source-event availability. An empty view does not establish the absence of risk.

A legitimate event triggered a rule

Verify the event and business context before changing the rule or its review process.

Expected blocking or email did not happen

The documented Security Alerts view does not automatically block activity or send messages. Confirm separate response capabilities before relying on them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this replace an external SIEM?

Evaluate your required event sources, retention and investigation workflows. A third-party SIEM connector must be confirmed separately.

Are alerts proof of an attack?

No. Review source records, account context and the rule condition before drawing a conclusion.

Can we see the workflow in a demo?

Ask to review a configured rule and the related source events using the proposed administrator permissions.
